WELCOME
I am so glad you are here.
It takes courage to seek support, so congratulations on taking that first step. Whatever is troubling you, know that you are certainly not alone. I am not sure I know anyone who has not been struggling in some way lately. You may have noticed an increase in anxiety, anger, fear, sadness, depression, or some other unwelcome symptom. No one wants to feel those things, but let me tell you one positive thing about symptoms. They can be like guides for us, telling us that it is time for some good growth. I can support you on this journey.
"What if every aspect of who you are designed to be is actually built into your psychological structure at birth and waiting for activation? What if self-image and self-worth are directly linked to self-expression? What if the most joyous moment of your life is actually your normal state of mind?"
William Symes - Mastering the Art of Psychotherapy
ABOUT ME
I am a licensed certified social worker. I earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Arkansas. I have worked with college students as they navigated issues such as life transitions, anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, trauma, and grief. I have worked as a school based therapist with children and adolescents struggling with issues related to behavioral difficulties, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dysfunctional family environments, and adjustment disorders. I currently provide psychotherapeutic services for adolescents (11+) and adults of all ages, assisting them as they re-connect with their authentic Selves and navigate their life journeys.
I have had the great honor of being trained by William Symes of Fayetteville since 2015 in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Jungian Analytic techniques, Gestalt psychotherapy, James Masterson psychotherapy, Object Relations, Erickson Strategic Theory, and Mindfulness techniques. In addition, I have completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I like using an integrative approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual's needs. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship in a safe and comfortable environment. I work with people both in person, and remotely via telehealth sessions. My office is located in the heart of Fayetteville at 19 E. Mountain St., right off of the beautiful downtown square.
It is true that personal growth is sometimes a lot of hard work. It can feel painful at times, but so does being stuck in a place of suffering. The therapeutic process should also be incredibly empowering and energizing. I believe that if you are here reading this, you are ready.
Please contact me by phone or email if you have questions, or would like to schedule an appointment.
